AI Policy
Last updated: October 2026
1. Purpose
I make personalised 3D printed gifts, commissions and event keepsakes from people's stories and memories. This policy explains how I use AI in my business, what I keep human, and how I protect your information.
2. What I will use AI for
I use AI as an assistant for the behind-the-scenes work around my business:
-
Brainstorming ideas
-
Creating visual references in the early discovery stage, so we're both clear on what you have in mind
-
Researching and learning about a topic (which I then double-check)
-
Drafting blog posts, website copy and social media captions (which I then check and correct)
-
Organising my own business planning and management
-
Powering a chatbot on my website that helps visitors find information (see Section 3)
3. What I will NOT use AI for
The creative heart of your piece stays human:
-
Making your piece. All design, 3D modelling, printing and finishing is done by me. Any AI-generated references are inspiration for our conversation.
-
Making final creative decisions about your piece
-
Replacing my conversations with you. You'll always be dealing with me directly, apart from the website chatbot. It's AI, clearly labelled, and only helps you find information already published on my site. It doesn't discuss commission details, and it can make mistakes.
-
Writing my client emails
-
Creating deepfakes or fake images of real people
-
Generating "instant" artwork or flyers to pass off as hand-designed work
4. Data and Privacy
Your stories are personal, so I share as little as possible with AI.
-
Anonymise first. I never share names, addresses, contact details or other identifying information with AI tools.
-
No sensitive information. I never enter sensitive or specific personal details into AI tools.
-
No client photos or files by default. I won't upload your photos, documents or personal files to AI tools. In the unlikely event a project needs it, I won't do so without your explicit written consent.
-
Removing files. If I do use a file with your permission, I delete it from the tool once the task is done.
-
The website chatbot. It's an open chat, so you don't need to give any details to use it. Please don't share personal or sensitive information in it. I can read chat conversations in my inbox, and I can't control how the chatbot tool handles them. For anything about a commission, please contact me directly.
-
Being realistic. I can control what I share. I can't control how AI companies run their systems, which is another reason I share as little as possible.
5. Human Review
AI can be wrong. It can invent facts or fill gaps with confident guesses. So I double-check anything I use it for and never rely on it fully. AI plays no part in producing your piece, and I never use it for facts about your order, materials, safety or pricing.
6. Transparency with clients
I'll always ask your approval before using an AI-generated reference for your project. If you'd rather I didn't use AI at all on your commission, just say so and I'll respect that. You're welcome to ask me about this policy at any time.
7. Review and updates
AI changes quickly, so I'll review this policy at least once a year, or sooner if my business or the tools I use change.
